  • I received a notice from Internet Domain Services to renew my domain. Is this legitimate?

Q: I received a notice from Internet Domain Services to renew my domain. Is this legitimate?
The notice was very forceful and sounded to me like I would lose my domain name if I did not do what they say. Help!

A: If you registered your domain through our registrar, your domain is safely ensconced in our domain manager. We automatically renew your domain on a yearly basis.

A domain name is included in all of our plans (except for the deprecated plan, Intro, $8 monthly).

There are a number of companies out there that are notorious for domain slamming - a deceptive practice and a scam. Another slammer is Domain Registry of America.

    Please disregard their email.
