Q: How to setup a managed domain plan that wants to point their domain to another web site service
How to setup a managed domain plan that wants to point their domain to another web site service

A: 1. They will probably provide a CNAME from the other service. For example, a hypthetical service might say to cname your domain to sites.sampleservice.com

One you have that do this:

    1. Login to the FASO Account

    2. Click "Manage Domain Name Servers"

    3. Click "Edit" next to the domain you want to port to your external site.

    4. Next to "Cname WWW value" enter the cname from your external service (in the example above, this would be sites.sampleservice.com)
[NOTE! sites.sampleservice.com is not a real cname, you must get the REAL one from your external service]

    5. Next to "forward to www" click "yes" . This forwards your root domain to your www subdomain which then displays the site at the CNAME.

    6. Save changes.

Note 1 - if you have ANY questions about this - simply contact our support staff.
Note 2 - if you have more than one domain, it's possible to run a FASO site on one and use this method to run another site with an external service.
