Q: If I need special assistance with my site, can you help me?
I have formatted some pages and need some help with the formatting. Can you help me?

A: We have a limited number of custom designers on staff that are always happy to assist you in cleaning up code on a page that you have formatted.

    Perhaps you:
    1. used a table for control over images and text
    OR
    2. copied and pasted text into a text box from another source
...and now you need our help to clean up the HTML code of the page.

If the project can be done quickly and easily, we will make corrections for you with no fee.

If the project is quite involved and time consuming, we may need to charge you our custom fee of $50 per hour, minimum charge is $20. Custom work can take 10 -14 days to schedule and complete.

We will have you approve any charge before we proceed.

Please see this FAQ for detailed info about our Custom Work Policy:

How do I remove the FASO Logo from the bottom of my site?

A: Well, we're not sure why you want to....it's a rather nice looking logo....but here's how you do it:

Add to your custom css in the Site Design center (under advanced options) the following:

    .faso-bug {display:none;}

    Q: Custom Work Policy
    Can you customize my site?

    A: CUSTOMIZING YOUR SITE:

    The Policy:
Custom work is available for paying members (on any plan). It is billed at $50/hour, prorated into 15-minute increments. The minimum charge for billable custom work is $25. Custom work can take up to 10-14 days to schedule and complete.

    The Caveat:
We don't recommend customization. Our professional templates are designed to function and display on all sorts of devices (mobile, laptop, desktops). The more customization added, the more the mobile part of the design becomes unstable. Please understand that most websites are now viewed on mobile devices. This trend continues to escalate and is the wave of the future. How your site looks on iPads, Androids, etc is more important than ever.

As we continue to develop and release new templates, customization becomes increasingly complex and time consuming on our end (each template has its own set of unique code).

We suggest that you make sure to peruse the available templates. It is highly likely that you’ll find one with the look and features, you're after. We can help you choose a template if you like.

    The Concession:
That said, customization is available as mentioned above, under 'The Policy.'
We will give you a quote for your approval, prior to doing the work. We always get approval from you before applying any extra charges.

Q: Can I add a background image to my site?
I want to have a canvas-like texture show as the background of my website. Can this be done?

A: Yes, it is possible to add a background image to your website pages.
This is a $25 custom billable change.

You will want to use a small image that will properly tile.

You can peruse online resources for texture backgrounds. Here are just a few:
    http://www.grsites.com/generate/group/4003/
    http://www.backgroundlabs.com/index.php?search=texture
    http://www.cgtextures.com/

NOTE: A subtle or muted texture works best. You want the background image to enhance your artwork - not detract from it.

Please see this FAQ for the specifics on our Custom Work Policy:

Q: Can I add sound or music to my site?
Can I add sound or music to my site?

A: When showing art, it's tempting to want to create "ambiance" by adding music, typically classical, to your site. After all - most galleries have soothing music playing...and it typically adds to the experience.

    Well don't.

On the Internet, most users hate web sites that "force" them to listen to music. Yes, I know you can turn the sound down...what if the visitor is already playing his own music on his computer? Maybe he doesn't want to turn his sound down.

Or perhaps the visitor has been to your site before and is tired of your music.

The answer is simple - don't add sound to your web site. If visitors want to listen to music while they browse - I assure you, they will take care of it themselves.
