An example of fine art by Wendy Baker

"Great art is the outward expression of an inner life in the artist."  Edward Hopper
Ever since seeing Van Gogh's exhibit at the age of ten  at the De Young Museum at the urging of her art teacher, Wendy has been influenced by bold, expressive art where the paint itself conveys an emotional intensity.
Wendy has a high  regard  for paint as a material.  She wants the paint texture to be seen and the energy in the work to be felt. She often strives for a “wow factor.”
With a background as a Landscape Architect and having grown up near the beach in San Francisco, Wendy's work has  also been influenced by a true love of nature, its forms, the feelings one gets from being "in nature" and hidden forces of nature such as the propulsion in granite rocks of Yosemite - a favorite place she visited as a child.
Wendy's love of abstract comes from a worship of free expression and creativity in  all arts.  In the film industry she worked on Quentin Tarantino's first film and admires his pushing all boundaries.
