The Artist Says:

My whimsical works are the most enjoyable art I do. Each painting allows me to paint with only the limits of what I can dream up and with over 25 years of experience in the pastel medium, the pastels are simply an extension of my mind. Most everything I do starts with thumbnail sketches which I blow up digitally to the size I want to paint. This allows me to keep the freshness and spontaneity of sketching within my works which I then bring to a finished state with the color. I love exaggerated reality because it is always something new!
My background includes 15 years as a freelance illustrator specializing in pastel and providing editorial, humorous and conceptual works for clients nationwide. I also worked 6 years as an art director for an advertising agency in Charlotte.
I’m presently a member of the Piedmont Pastel Society in Charlotte, NC, president of the artists coalition at Clearwater Artists Studio where my studio is located in Concord,
