Walt is a representational painter who works with oils to connect with, and amplify the beauty found in un-possesed Nature. 

"I was not that kid sitting in the back of the class, always drawing. I was the kid in the back of the class, staring out the window, intrigued and energized by the maple leaves fluttering in the wind, by the fluid rhythm of brook trout swimming in a clear mountain stream and by the plume of spin-drift snow raking across distant mountain summits. I was, and still am, a kid longing to be part of it all, to see what mysteries await around the next bend. This is what my art is about, and painting has become a fundamental element of this experience."
