Instructor Vickie Guthrie began oil painting in 2001. She participated in many workshops to quickly gain knowledge and speed up the learning process. She studied with Kaye Franklin who focused on composition and color theory. Vickie enjoys painting still life and architecture with loose, impressionistic strokes, whether in oil or pastel. She and husband George live in rural Somervell County on seven acres with two dogs and two cats.
