Artist Valerie Pustorino

An example of fine art by Valerie Pustorino

Creating art is a way to connect the deepest parts of me to the natural world. I paint in both oil and watercolor mostly from life, whether it’s in the field or studio. The colors and light found in nature are captivating and challenging and I love discovering and interpreting them and bringing their essence to the paper or canvas. When I work I feel a serenity and peacefulness that I want to share. I am particularly drawn to flowers and to ocean or water scenes and find them meditative and calming.
I have lived in Northern California for over 30 years now and love painting outside.  I love Sonoma county, I love the grapes, the horses, the sheep farms, old barns, the delightful spring and summer flowers.  When I paint it's like preserving a moment, a feeling, some sense of this wonderful place that I am blessed to live in and I hope to share those moments with you.
You can purchase many of my pieces as well as my watercolors and hand painted cards on my etsy site:
