Toni is proud to say she is a native Arizonan. She was born in Mesa, Arizona and still calls Arizona home today. She began developing her observation and drawing skills long before she was of school age, continuing to develop her skills over the years. Compelled to pursue art seriously since 1995, she has won awards both locally and in international shows. She earned her signature status in the Colored Pencil Society of America in 2008 and became a an associate member of the Women Artists of the West in 2013.
Toni considers herself self-taught, although in 2003 she spent five days at the Scottsdale Artists School, which made a huge impact on her work. The Scottsdale Artists School 2004 “Best and Brightest”, People’s Choice Award was given to Toni’s “Tyler’s Hat” a colored pencil portrait. She has won awards in both the local chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America and their International Exhibitions. She has also had pieces accepted into the Catherine Lorillard Wolf Annual Exhibition in Gramercy Park, NY, NY., the Bosque Annual Conservatory Art Classic in Clifton, Texas, the American Academy of Equine Art, International Museum of the Horse, Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, Kentucky, the Invitational Group Show “Meanwhile Back at the Ranch” Tohono Chul Park Gallery, Tucson, Az, and the Women Artists of the West National Exhibition in Fredricksburg, Texas.
Toni's motivation comes from things she sees around her every day. Arizona's beautiful skies, varied landscapes, wildlife and the people who call it home, all become her sources of inspiration. She strives to capture the spirit of a portrait, the sparkle of a moment in time, or the sweet soft sounds of your memories.
Toni resides in San Tan Valley, Arizona with her husband, Jimmy.
