The Artist Says:

I realize that God has a hand in each piece I create.  Andre Gide said it best:
“Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better.” - Andre Gide

Tonee spent over 20 years in the field of Healthcare Information Technology, before leaving to pursue a career as a full-time artist.  Her mother was a working artist who she studied under as a child.
Tonee's art has taken on many changes over the years since she began painting as a child. Over the years she continued in corporate America but continued dreaming of painting full time.  She experimented with pottery, oil painting, metal work, carving of print plates which finally led to the joy of creating artwork from paint, found objects, mediums and gesso board.  Her international travels as well as time spent abroad as a missionary have shaped her work.  She creates highly textured pieces expressing nature and inspirations from her travel. She's lived in China, Europe and traveled across the entire U.S.
New Mexico Metal was a reflection of time spent in Santa Fe, NM.  Transfiguration came from traveling in Dubai.
BS in Liberal Art from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA allowed her to include art classes along with her Business Major. After graduation she went on to teach children's art classes at the Montessori school there on the college campus. Shortly after graduation she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she and her husband currently reside.
A primarily self taught artist artist she has continued to improve her skills and define her own style by attending workshops and classes conducted by noted artists, such as Lisa Cyr and Sandra Duran Wilson.
The art created by Tonee is rich in color and often incorporates gold as well as found objects focusing on a central theme.  Her powerful abstract and contemporary works reveal more with each glance.
