Theda Neubauer-Hewuse was born and raised in the beautiful state of Alaska.  At the age of eight, her family loaded up their old Chevy truck and headed out to Central Wisconsin to live out their family dream of farming.  Since childhood, she has loved to draw using pencils, pens, charcoal and just about anything that was available to make sketches of the things around her.
Years later, after raising her family, she took a class on watercolor at the Center for the Visual Arts in downtown Wausau.  She was immediately captivated by the unpredictable and exciting medium of watercolor and has continued to paint since that time.  She particularly enjoys painting outdoors and is challenged by the elements (including the bees) and loves to experience the smells, sounds and even the wind, although that creates quite a challenge!
Theda has painted with well-known artists, such as Brenda Swenson, Sterling Edwards, Andy Evansen and Brienne Brown.  She is involved in many different venues in her community displaying her artwork and has received a number of awards.  Her main focus is to share with others the gift that God has given to her through her watercolor painting.

I paint to express what surrounds me and to energize others
to see what we don't always see clearly with our eyes.
Life is a painting, we've each been given a canvas to paint on,
it all depends [...]
