Biography

Teri’s fascination with light, shadows and shapes is evident in the majority of her work, primarily created in oils and soft pastels.  With an impressionistic edge, she calls upon her love of nature, architecture and human and animal forms to create realistic landscapes, portraits and still life.
Teri's course of study includes the Toledo Museum of Art and Chicago's American Academy of Art. In 2008, after working in the commercial art and design field for over 30 years, she established a studio providing art classes for children and adults, which she maintained for ten years. Teri became well respected as an artist and instructor and maintained a local and regional presence with her artworks - now looking to expand that reach.  She is also expanding her plein air painting efforts and finds the exercise eye opening and a great challenge.
Now living most of the time in Michigan, Teri was a former member of the Toledo Women’s Art League and supported the Toledo Museum of Art and the Toledo Artists Club.  Teri has also judged several years of the Waterville Arts Commission Annual Paint Out plein air competitions.  In past years, she partnered with the Waterville Chamber of Commerce, selling prints of her painting of a historical landmark, sales of which helped the chamber’s scholarship fund.
She is presently a member of the Pastel Society of America, Great Lakes Pastel Society, the Anthony Wayne Area Arts Commission, and is currently represented by Fernwood 1891 Gallery in Fennville MI.
