Born in Indiana and raised in Cincinnati, I have always been interested in artistic pursuits, even as a child.  I obtained a degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 1988, and married my husband, Bill, the same year.  However, once our children were born, I left nursing to stay home with our kids, and one of my greatest joys was the opportunity to homeschool them.  During all of their growing up years, there was never a time when I wasn't feeding my artistic side.  First, textile art and quilting, then on to interior design, scrapbooking, digital scrapbooking, graphic design, and finally, a successful high school senior photography business.
When we moved to Carmel, Indiana in 2014, I felt God leading me away from photography to have more time for whatever ministries He would lead me to here in Indy.  For a couple of years, I satisfied my need for creativity with doing graphic design to serve various philanthropic organizations I was involved with.  However, after offhandedly mentioning that I'd like to take up oil painting, my husband was my biggest encourager to do it.  So in January of 2018, I ran head long into learning everything I could about oil painting, and color theory.  I was fortunate enough early on to study locally with Pam Newell, a very accomplished fine artist.  I began painting en plein air and it opened many doors to meet other artists and join painting groups.  I have had the opportunity to take workshops from such wonderful artists as Laurel Daniel, Kathie Odom, Eli Cedrone and other members of the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association.  I am thankful to all these incredible teaching artists who have been willing to share their knowledge.
