The Artist Says:

I have been creating works of art since I was 8 years old.  Back in the 60's I studied art at Sam Houston University where, Harry Aschan, Charles Pebworth, Stanley Lee & Lois Streeter gave me a strong foundation.  Since 2010, I have studied with Kim English, Colley Whissom and Kenn Burkhaus. As with the contemporary artist Jaquin Sarolla's work focuses on the spectacular  use of light to make his canvases come to life.
I have displayed and sold my work in galleries, private viewings, commercial settings and on-line. I have found that posting my work online is a great way to show my work. Much to my surprise I have sold a fair amount of my work on line. I have used social media, personal web page and on-line galleries.

Susan Tyler began  painting under the guidance of her Grandmother at the age of 8. She has always gravitated to Oil painting although she also works in watercolor and acrylics. She gained her knowledge of art from numerous workshops and all but 3 hours of a BA degree from Sam Houston State University. (Those 3 hours was a civics course.)
In 2013, Susan opened an Art Gallery in Galveston, Texas. Her Art and Gallery was recognized by the Galveston Art League. In 2018, Susan moved to Centerville and opened a Studio in the Woods just outside of Centerville, Texas. She works with adults and children to help them develop their creative skills. Susan was one of the first artists to "decorate" the deer- public art on the square. You can find Susan in her studio or working somewhere in the region with students. She maintains a web page: www.tylerstudio.org to display and sell her work. She also has her work on display at the Community Bank in Centerville.
