An example of fine art by SUSAN POWERS

Do what brings you joy. These are the words that propelled Susan into pursuing a career in painting. After many years as a successful food blogger and a professional food photographer she realized that she needed something new, something special. Having studied applied design at the University of Minnesota, she loved her fine art classes. But she had put that on the shelf years ago. A voice from deep down inside was pushing her to start studying art again.  In 2018, she took a beginning pastel class at a local community center and was literally shocked when her first painting of an onion actually looked like an onion. The flood gates were opened.
Susan started studying again, doing the deep dive. “I am loving the challenge that presents itself every time I step up to the easel. There is still so much to learn but one thing I know. I have to paint.”
