Susan Klas Wright is a Rhode Island artist who paints colorful landscapes, seascapes and portraits in watercolors and oils. Sue is an instructor at the prestigious Providence Art Club and at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, two of the oldest art associations in the United States, and at the Wickford Art Association which holds one of the country's finest art festivals every summer.
Susan's career began as a graphic artist and photographer in Buffalo, New York. After a move to Connecticut she exhibited her oil paintings at the Kent Art Association, the Housatonic Art League, and with other local art groups. Now in Rhode Island, Sue has switched her preference from oils to watercolors. Here, she exhibits at the Providence Art Club, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and the Wickford Art Association.
"After 9 years as a graphic artist and photographer, I worked in the home 13 years, in sales for 9 years and as a teacher for 7 years. All those years I dreamed about painting again. Finally, I've returned to what I was born to do. Pure joy!"
Juror: Stephen Quiller  said "Great feeling for the atmosphere and subject - good use of high key value and warm to cool color." 
Stephen Quiller was speaking of "Marjorie Glacier" which received the Horace & Ada Macomber Memorial Award at the 2014 Northeast Regional Watermedia Competition at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society.
