Susan Daly Voss is a contemporary realist oil painter, who enjoys exploring the effects of light, whether it’s illuminating a still life, landscape or figure.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, her interest in art was nurtured from a very young age, and eventually led to a BFA in painting and printmaking Summa Cum Laude, from the University of North Florida in 1986, where she earned the award of Outstanding Graduate of the College of Fine Arts.
Daly’s education continued with her move to NY, where she studied at the renowned Art Student’s League and The Andrew Lattimore Atelier. She also studied regularly with Garin Baker at his Carriage House Studios, as well as American master Max Ginsburg. Time spent in the museums and galleries there was an important education as well.
Her years in NY were highlighted by her invitation to join the esteemed Salmagundi Club of NYC, founded in 1871 as a center for artists and collectors. Her paintings hang there regularly, in members exhibitions.
Her paintings are in many corporate collections, including Sun Bank, Florida State College, Halifax Hospital and others. Private collections range over three continents.
Back in her hometown of Jacksonville now, and with a studio in the CoRK Arts District, she looks forward to exploring the light and form of the Southeast’s coastal areas, as well as continuing her interest in still life and the figure.
Daly shares her life with her husband John Voss, and son Devin Daly as well as her studio buddy, standard poodle Jax, who is her biggest fan.
