After years of exploring different creative mediums (I have the leftovers to prove it!), I have discovered Mosaics!  I was instantly hooked by the beautiful colors of the glass and the endless possibilities of design.  I am inspired by the colors and beauty of the ocean, and the beautiful places I have lived.
I am fortunate to have grown up on the coast of Half Moon Bay, California, where I learned how to scuba dive at a young age.  I assisted certifying divers in the Monterey Bay for  9 years.  Subsequently, after taking a dive trip to Micronesia, with a stopover in Hawaii, I fell in love with the South Pacific and the island lifestyle.  I made the move to Hawaii in 1986, where I lived for 21 years. In 2015 I moved back to Lake Tahoe,
currently living in Squaw Valley.
I have sailed and traveled the South Pacific, Micronesia, Tahiti, Australia, and every beach I could visit, to explore, dive, collect, and dream up future art projects.  I have shared my love of arts and crafts by bringing projects and supplies on many trips to Tahiti, sharing ideas, working, and getting to know many of the local artists.  We have made lampshades, painted silk, cards, bird houses, and collected shells to make "beach" signs.
My mosaics consist of stained glass, mirrors, shells, found objects, maps, and tempered glass.  I love to create fun pieces that bring a new twist to an age-old art form.  Mixing these mediums allows me to let my imagination run wild.  I try to do my part to "be green" by using leftover cement board, tempered glass, and found objects that would otherwise end up in a landfill.  Each piece is handmade and original, and many have [...]
