The Artist Says:

"The pure beauty that exists everywhere in this world goes unnoticed by the average person. My goal is to use the gift Iíve been given to recreate that beauty, using paint on a canvas, in such a way as to convince others to open their eyes and take notice. Perhaps then they will be inspired to begin to see the beauty around them as it was meant to be seen and appreciated."

Sue Foell hails from Erie, Pennsylvania where she had the great fortune of living out her childhood close to Lake Erie.  Hiking, fishing, swimming, picnicking, sledding, and ice skating along with her parents and 6 siblings in their beautiful surroundings was a big part of her life. That contact with nature, along with being exposed to art at a young age through her father, has had a lasting impact.
With an innate attraction to art, over her lifetime she dabbled in a wide variety of artistic activities, including: jewelry making, pottery, photography, and others. After college, and after working as a graphic artist for 14 years and starting a family, oil painting finally took center stage in 2002. Since that time, she has continued to hone her skills, studying oil painting with William J. Kalwick Jr., Qiang Huang, Roger Dale Brown, and Bruce Williamson. She has also taught oil painting in an effort to pass along the knowledge she received from others. Portraits are her number one love, but she also excels at painting still life and landscapes. The thrill and fascination she finds in painting the beauty that is everywhere is something she says will never grow old.
Sue has received numerous awards at various local and national shows over the years, including the Salon International Juried Exhibitions, the Oil Painters of America’s National Juried Exhibitions, and the Oil Painters of America’s Eastern Regional Exhibitions, amongst others. In 2017, Sue achieved OPA Signature Membership Status for her outstanding accomplishments in representational oil painting.
Her work hangs in private collections throughout the country and in the following galleries: Anderson Fine Art Gallery in St Simons Island, GA; Cortile Gallery in Provincetown, MA; Hughes Gallery, Inc. [...]
