An example of fine art by Sharon Yarbrough

I am a Florida contemporary impressionist who grew up in South Jersey by the seashore.  My mother encouraged my early interest in drawing and I was inspired by my uncle who was an accomplished oil painter.  Art studies include classes at The Art Students League and Parsons School of Design in New York; Ringling School of Art in Sarasota as well as workshops with renowned plein air painters.  I was hooked on plein air painting after a two-week stint at Monet’s gardens in Giverny.  For the past eight years I have been the Director of the Peace River Painters, a plein air group, which paints in and around Southwest Florida every week.  This will be my 5th year at the Forgotten Coast Paint Out and my second time as an Ambassador.  The atmosphere here is both magical and ephemeral.   The plein air painter’s keen focus marks a point in time and space that records that one moment that will never be again.  To be part of that is something very special indeed.  Sharon is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Tonalist Society, American Impressionist Society and National Oil & Acrylic Painters Society.
