The Artist Says:

Three's a Crowd was created and inspired from childhood memories of raising over 500 budgies for local pet stores. I have always been fascinated by the personalities of birds.

Biography

Life, Education, Training & Experience

Sharole (pr. “Sheryl”) was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada, lived in Western North Carolina and now resides in Colorado with her husband Rob.  She has always had an innate desire to create visual artwork.  As a young adult, she restored paintings for five years and worked with an archival framing expert in the Mission, BC, area.  She studied for many years under Aaron McBride, who commissioned a portrait for Queen Elizabeth.  From 1994 to 1995, she received formal training in Fine Art studies at the University College of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, BC.  She also studied pastels under Dianna Ponting, a noted international artist in the Abbotsford area.  From 1996 to 2005, she showed her versatility in all mediums by developing courses and teaching students of all ages in oil, pastel, watercolor, charcoal, conté, pencil, and acrylic at both the University College of the Fraser Valley and the Mission Arts Council.

Artistic Style

Sharole creates artwork and portraiture in a Realism style that evokes interest and liveliness through brush strokes and color.  Her other selected series of works can be Impressionistic or even Abstract.

Inspirations

Sharole’s art reflects nature’s beauty.  Her artistic visions are from memory and photographs of her travels throughout beautiful North America.
Many people in her life have been an inspiration including family, friends, students, clients, and two artists in particular, Dorothy St.Hilaire and Dianne Goddard.  Dorothy, who was an accomplished artist and mentor, encouraged Sharole to teach art, an experience that has proved to be very fulfilling.  Sharole met Dianne when they were taking an art course together and the friendship endured many years of participating in exhibitions, fairs and festivals.  Another dear friend, Maureen Walford, supported Sharole in her early art career.
