Born and raised in Nebraska, Scott has had a passion for the western outdoors and its wildlife since childhood. An avid outdoorsman, Scott lives in the Black Hills of South Dakota with his wife and two children. A mostly self-taught artist, Scott began sculpting in 2003 and had his first piece cast in the summer of 2003.  He tries to convey realistic action and proportion while at the same time not getting too detailed.  His works are a hybrid of impressionism with a touch of realism “Sculptures have to look good from every angle and so I look for different movements animals make and try to capture this with my camera or sketch pad before I put it in clay or on canvas. "I want to put just enough information in the piece to make it read without over doing it”. Scotts work has won multiple awards in just the few shows he has entered.
Although sculpting for a relatively short time, Scott's works are receiving very high reviews from collectors and peers in the fine art community. Scott's art has been shown in galleries in Jackson Wyoming, Cody Wyoming and Bozeman Montana dating back to 2004 and is currently represented by Jacob's Gallery in Deadwood South Dakota.  All available works can be purchased exclusively through the Jacob's Gallery. 
Scott does his research of big game and landscapes throughout the Black Hills, and in Wyoming, Montana and Colorado. "My ultimate goal is to remind people of the wildlife and surrounding landscapes they have seen and at the same time provide a work of art that they will enjoy for years to come."
