Artist Sandra Morgan

An example of fine art by Sandra Morgan

I started making jewelry in 2015 as a stress reliever.  I started with wire wrap then was introduced to copper form fold and forging. I enjoy working with copper, its rich warm color lends itself too many nature inspired pieces and has many patina options
As a retired teacher when it came to materials for jewelry making I was used to having limited resources.  I often journey through second hand stores, thrift shops and yard sales looking for "treasures". I look at items as not what they are, but what they could become.  I make one of a kind wearable pieces out of repurposed silver plated trays, bowls,  and silverware.
It has been very rewarding to give these once valued family objects a new life.  It is my hope that they can be enjoyed and treasured for years to come.
I have taught classes for the Amador County Gem and Mineral Society and Amador Arts . I have been mentored by Linda Ricci and Betty Egger and have taken classes by known silversmith Al Bolshazy and Aleris Hart. I am a member of the Sutter Creek Gallery in Sutter Creek California and the Gold Country Artists Gallery in Placerville California.
