Ruth Francis has painted since she was in grade school.  She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, enjoying many hours at her mother's kitchen table painting and drawing.  After graduating, she worked for Hallmark Greeting Cards as an artist in Kansas City where she studied with Hallmark instructors and attended The Kansas City Art Institute.
Marriage and children took her to live in the Western states where she had traveled each summer with her Mother and Father.  Ruth always loved the mountains and desert.  The native culture was like a storybook to a young girl.  Finally settling in New Mexico, she found the art community that inspired her to take her studies to a new level.  Ruth has, studied all mediums and techniques and most recently with Elizabeth Robbins and Laura Robb.  Each of her paintings is a new experience for her and for her patrons.  
Ruth says, "I love art!  All art!  I want to experience it all."  Her works sold extensively in New Mexico to private collections and she exhibited at Casa Rinconada Studio near Taos where she opened her Cowgirl Studio and Gallery. She has earned many awards for her artwork throughout her career.
Ruth spent thirty years painting in New Mexico and points west.  She now resides in Grapevine, Texas where she finds the landscape and light very different from New Mexico.  Enjoying the challenge of new subjects and surroundings has been an exciting experience and one that her patrons seem to appreciate.  Her works have been well accepted in Texas and have sold to private collectors internationally and throughout the United States.  Her art can also be found in office and professional buildings throughout Texas, New Mexico and Utah.
