Artist Ruth Andre

An example of fine art by Ruth Andre

Photo of Ruth Andre

I have recently moved from the back country of Northern California to the farmlands of the Mid-West. The landscape in Missouri is quite different from my home in California but it still inspires me and my painting. The seasons change and nature's palette travels from dark green in spring and summer to a golden hue in fall and finally white in winter. Each painting brings to the canvas the essence and the interpretation of the landscape that I pass through daily. My work is an open door to my heart and what life and my surroundings bring my way.

Ruth studied art and design at California State Long Beach as well as printmaking at Otis/Parsons Art Institute.  Her interest in art led her to a career representing artists and photographers located in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.  Then in 1992 she took her first painting workshop with Maurice Larioux in Santa Fe, NM. It was the beginning of her painting journey.  She continued studying art and taking workshops with known artists to learn the art of painting.  Ruth has been involved with art for most of her life.  Printmaking, fiber-sculpture and graphic design were all part of her art education but painting became her true love.  Her career as an Artist Representative and her individual art study were a molding that formed what she does today.
