An example of fine art by Roxanne Kucera Sachs

Roxanne Kucera Sachs is a native Californian.  From an early age, drawing and painting has been her passion; often interrupting family gatherings by showing them her latest creation.  Her professional career started in junior high school, where she sold drawings of the Beatles to crazed fans.  Throughout her school years, art was her favorite subject; earning her awards and recognition.  During high school, Roxanne received a scholarship to attend Art Center College of Design-Los Angeles.   She continued her art education at Fullerton College, and from there transferred to The University of California -Riverside, where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Fine Art and a teaching credential; graduating with honors.
Roxanne taught Art and General Education to elementary and secondary students for over 20 years.  Although a very rewarding journey, it left little time to pursue her first love, painting.  In 2004, she retired from teaching; renewing her passion and career in art.  In previous years, she concentrated primarily on studio work, but has recently discovered the excitement and joy of plein air painting.
She feels very fortunate to live in a state that has such array of beautiful landforms and coastal views.  While traveling, she continually admires her environment through the eyes of an artist; paying particular attention to color, shapes, textures, and atmospheric influences.  Capturing the mood of the day and her response while observing, Roxanne paints primarily in oils both in studio and en plein air.
