    My art career began at the University of Utah. I graduated in 1962 with a degree in Art Education. I married my husband, Tim Sloan, also an artist, went to the Peace Corps and spent two years in Ecuador. Upon returning to the U.S., we moved to California. I stayed home to raise our two children and when they were in their teens, I completed a teaching degree for California. My art work was put aside for many years. Art has been a life-long interest, it has only been since I retired from teaching in 2001, that I have been able to dedicate myself to painting full time. My specific interests in art are plein air, still life and painting the figure. I also love teaching art to adult students.
     In 2010 we moved to Rocklin, near Sacramento, CA. In the last 2 years we have found art organizations and art classes. We are going to drawing classes and we are going out to paint plein air once a week. We are busy with grand children. We like the area and the weather. You can count on the sun!
     It is now 2015 and we have been in Rocklin for five years. During that time we have joined two art organizations, Rocklin Fine Arts and Sacramento Fine Arts Center. Being active in both of these art clubs is more than enough to keep my husband, Timothy, and myself busy. Currently we are on the Show Committee for WASH, which is the watercolor club connected with Sacramento Fine Arts. We also help with the elementary school art show sponsored by Rocklin Fine Arts each spring.
     Beyond this we enter competitive shows in the Northern California area. I received an Honorable Mention for a watercolor figure called the "Beautiful Back of Seated Model" in the member show of Northern [...]
