The Artist Says:

"Time flies whether you're having fun or not"

Rose Sinatra is an artist - the definition of someone who is in awe of nature's incredible beauty, whether the disappearing sparkles of light on a rose or the many colors hidden in the bark of a tree. This passion to capture such moments in nature, as countless artists before her, is the source of her being. Creating art based on what she feels rather than what she sees.In 1978, Rose relocated to California from New Jersey after a short vacation in Los Angeles. Having to support herself, she maintained a full-time career working with computers and creating art in her spare time. Taking a plein-air class and meeting other artists was the turning point in Sinatra's life. Working in both oils and watercolors, taking workshops, joining art groups made this artist more driven to create good art. In 2004, a group of students talked Rose into starting her own classes and workshops in the Pasadena, Montrose and Claremont, California areas. This was the beginning of almost a decade of enjoyment, loyalty and growth between students and instructor. After much soul searching and with a heavy heart, in 2012, Rose decided to relocate back to New Jersey to be closer to family. She still travels to California to teach classes, while teaching privately in the Toms River, New Jersey area.Rose is a member of Ocean County Artists' Guild, America Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, New Jersey Watercolor Society, Garden State Watercolor Society and Transparent Watercolor Society of America. She has won numerous awards among these shows, the latest being the most honored 2009 Skyledge Award from TWSA (Transparent Watercolor Society of America).Rose's works also appear in many magazines, including Watercolor Artist, Artist Sketch Magazine and New Jersey Countryside Magazine. Her works are in private collections in the United States and Europe. For further information about [...]
