An example of fine art by Rita Ball

"I read, quite a few years ago, that the "arts" is for entertaining.  I believe "entertaining" helps us to escape some of the "not so pleasant" happenings in our life, if only for a short time.  That is why we go to art museums, plays, symphony, movies, and even t.v..  We relax, smile and are ready to face reality again.  That is my goal for my artwork.  I want the viewer to stop, feel, smile, and perhaps see something they hadn't noticed before, in their busy lifestyle."
R.J. Ball
Rita received her first, 1st. Place" Blue ribbon, for the painting titled "Paint What You Love", in 2008.  She adopted that title as her painting theme, and always try to keep it in mind when she is thinking of what to paint next.  People and animals are her favorite subjects, but she does venture out occasionally.  She is a self-taught artist, but has been very fortunate to have taken, and will continue to take, classes/workshops from very talented artists, wanting to share their knowledge.  Her books, dvds, and magazines increase yearly.
