Richmond Futch Jr. started painting early in life, recognized by a RCSD teacher
of his untapped talent Richmond was entered into a special art program for one
year of private study at the Rochester Museum of Art. He continued to attend
evening art classes at East High, later he joined the "All of Us" art program.
Richmond is also one of the founding members of the Figure Study Guild led by
Master artist Steven Carpenter, were he continues to enhance his craft by
studying the techniques of the Old Master Artist. However, the majority of his
training has been self-taught.
Richmond has become known in the Christian world as a Worship Painter. As an
ordained minister Richmond flows in the prophetic through his work. He has study
hearing the “Voice of God” under the leadership of Bob & Kathy Campbell of
Harvest Fellowship in Geneseo, NY.
In 2006 the Holy Spirit birthed A.R.T.S Artistically Revealing The Spirit
through Richmond. A.R.T.S is a ministry that promotes the recovery of the
imagination and creativity. This ministry allows you to practice and learn that
art is a basic form of prophecy that God is restoring to His kingdom. Even
though A.R.T.S is a Christian based ministry it maintains the ability to bridge
the church and the community at large to serve as a catalyst in the process of
social and emotionally healing.
Recently in 2016 Richmond launched Revelation Rochester Art Center which is housed at the Pillar
where he offers free art workshops to our most vulnerable population.
Richmond has conducted seminars on the effectiveness of healing through the
arts. He has been featured in several articles in the Democrat and Chronicle,
Metropolitan, Breakthrough and About Time magazines. His work is known
throughout the USA. Richmond’s work can be seen around Rochester hanging in the
French Quarter Restaurant 130 Spring Street and Café Aviv 321 East Ave.
