Artist Ric Feeney

An example of fine art by Ric Feeney

Photo of Ric Feeney

I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado as a teacher of Fine Arts, with an emphasis in drawing and painting.  I later would complete 21 hours of post-grad art studies at SUNY New Paltz.  My early style of painting was hard edge acrylic.  It wasn't until 2000 that I would, prayerfully, become a full time watercolor artist.
Early on, watercolor Master Tony Couch inspired me with his emphasis on value and composition.  Today there are so many great artists to challenge and inspire me.
I live is the Adirondacks, in Willsboro, NY, along the shores of Lake Champlain where I preach, paint and teach..
I’m a signature member of the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society and the Vermont Watercolor Society.  I also serve on the board of the Adirondack Art Association.  I also dedicate part of my home on Main Street as a gallery, Ric Feeney Watercolors.
An avid photographer, my paintings often emerge from some of the thousands of pictures I’ve captured.  I occasionally collaborate with Denver photographer Justyna E Butler and Maine photographer Lovena West turning some of their captures into watercolors.
I am the proud father of 4 creative grown ups and grandfather of 15 great young artists.
I’ve been creating watercolors exclusively since 2000. I work on my craft daily.  My work is in lots of private collections and galleries.  Over the years I’ve enjoyed developing logos, brochures, murals and book covers along with painting for pleasure and profit.
My work is a spiritual adventure for me and therapeutic self care.
Welcome to the journey.
