Originally from Virginia, Renae Martin McGuire now resides in North Carolina with her husband, Tim. They have one child, Louie (Toulouse Lautrec), a grey dappled Percheron cross horse (their other child, Scarlett, a Long Haired Miniature Dachshund, passed away at age 20). Although she attended Averett College for commercial and fine art, Renae's first career was as a full time musician, traveling with her husband, Tim, a singer/songwriter, guitarist, and drummer. While there she and Tim played as a duo, and Tim recorded an album of original songs ("Time For a Change", available on CD Baby, along with current CD, "Soul Breeze").  The wife of a producer friend ushered Renae into the growing Nashville visual art scene by getting her a job with the Nashville Arts Foundation. Watkins Art Institute was housed in the same building, so Renae entered the fine art curriculum there and re-discovered her love for painting. She enjoyed being involved in the arts locally, joining VAAN (Visual Arts Alliance of Nashville) and Untitled (a creative, uncensored art group), and volunteering as a docent for the First Center for the Visual Arts.  She opened "Gallery of the Tennessee Artist" with two artist friends after the NAF closed, and later worked as a mural artist for her own company, "Interior Illusions".  She had a number of group, solo, and gallery shows in the Nashville area, including the Madison Art Center, the Parthenon, 328 Performance Hall, 12th and Porter, Dreamworks Records office on Music Row,  Mt. Juliet Library, and shows -"Artrageous", "Artopia", and "Hypnagogia".  Renae and Tim moved to Waxhaw North Carolina [...]
