Rebecca Stebbins is an oil painter and also teaches art to children and adults, working both outdoors en plein air and in her studio outside Santa Barbara, California.

Rebecca began painting in oils in Provence, France, in 2000, studying with Judy Ryan of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. She has studied with prominent artists in Santa Barbara and at the Taos Art Institute, Traverse City Art Center, and at Chateau l'Age Baston in France. She continues to paint in France each year and has been selected for artist residencies there, including at Atelier de la Rose and Bordeneuve Retreat. Her work is rooted in the traditions of realism and impressionism, both of which have a deep history in California and in France.  Born in Seattle and raised in the Midwest, Rebecca graduated from Brown University and has lived in the Santa Barbara area since 1985. She teaches art to k-8th grade students at The Howard School and belongs to the California Art Club, SCAPE (Southern California Artists Painting for the Environment), Santa Barbara Art Association, and Carpinteria Arts Center, where she was also the Executive Director for three years. Her works can be found in collections across the United States and in Europe. In her free time, she can be found in her garden, buried in books, or visiting museums around the world.
