''Into the Skyvault'', Self Portrait, Oil on images on the Site are copyrighted by the individual artist and may not be used on any other site without permission of the Mayer, a native of Arkansas, has lived in Sarasota, Florida for twenty eight years and has studied fine art with nationally known artists and instructors of the Southwest Florida area.  The compositional implication of the sinuous undulation of line, edge, density, depth, and the perception of space are found in her work. The truth, beauty, and simplicity of this essence is embedded in her paintings that investigate the power of color and the undulation of form that will evoke a sense of both the near and the far, the observed and the abstract, and the familiar and the exquisite. She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and Women Contemporary Artists of the Florida Gulf Coast.  With a degree in Fine Art and a M.S.Ed. in Exceptional Student Education, she teaches in the public schools as well as the private sector offering “Painting With the Masters“, a fine art painting class, to children ages K-12. Her work may be seen at The Dancing Crane Gallery, 1019 10th Ave. W., Bradenton, Florida.
Personal Artist Statement:
I work with a variety of media and subject but  I am primarily an oil painter working en plein air with a loose and spontaneous interpretation of botanicals and the natural landscape. The usage of color and spatial orientation are the principal concerns in my work.  My compositions are comprised of the sensuous curve of our natural world where line, color, shape, and space interlock in relationship.  Drawing on the lush power of nature’s bounty I use an intensely vivid color palette.  Utilizing natural elements to absorb and reflect light creating the color, shadows, [...]
