I have always been attracted to art with a little mystery. That secret place, just around the bend that makes me want to walk into the painting and just sit in that private spot, just out of site. My art, like my garden, is set up so that there is a surprise around each corner. If everything is laid out in front of the spectator, it would be like knowing the end of a play, just as it begins.
I have been described as having the creative ability to show us a perfect world. Hopefully at least, a small escape.I graduated from Hayward State with an art degree and landed a job at Handcraft Tile, hand painting tiles and carving the master molds for their hand pressed tiles for 25 years. Still wanting to use my kiln, I began working with fused glass and making plates and jewelry.Knowing that my true love is painting landscapes, I retired from custom tile painting to explore other mediums that would express my feelings that nature evokes. After trying oils and acrylics, I discovered pastels and fell in love with the depth and luminosity that can be achieved. It has been my passion ever since.
Although most of my works are composed in my studio, I paint en plein air whenever possible, landscapes being my obsession.I live in Morgan Hill, California with my husband, Paul and lab/berner pup, Shilo.
