An example of fine art by Priscilla Nelson

Photo of Priscilla Nelson

Figurative Nelson has been a profeesional artist for over for 35 years, and, like many artists, has explored many mediums and subject matter.
Her passion and primary medium is oil on canvas.  Nelson focuses on figurative works in a contemporary-realistic style.
Her commissioned work includes landscapes and specific large scale pieces.
The majority of Nelson's work explores the figure and clothing and how they both convey moods and attitudes.
Her inspiration is people and what they wear. She enjoys observing and interacting with those around her.  Nelson is intrigued by how people move and the statement they make by what they wear. She will often capture the movement of cloth and the moods that clothing can convey. When Nelson moved to Scottsdale, AZ she became obsessed by water. Something, water, that she once took for granted was now so striking in its absence. Water has become prevalent in Nelson's paintings. The way water channels light creates its own chaotic movement. Her models are often inmersed in water.
Nelson's art studio is open to visitors by appointment.
Nelson’s art is currently featured in private and public collections throughout the United States and abroad. She is a member of Oil Painters of America and the International Guild of Realism. Priscilla Nelson currently resides in Scottsdale, Art North 91st Street, Suite 104Scottsdale, AZ 85260
