Oils have always been her passion, though she also paints with watercolors and pastels. She and her husband share a common interest in the outdoors making landscape painting a natural activity. Travels near and far always include the fly fishing gear and plein air supplies.
She is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Associated Artists of Winston-Salem, Women Artists of the Southeast, the Waterworks Visual Art Center where she is a painting instructor, Board Member Emeritas, and is a founding member of Plein Air Carolina.
She has studied with Charles Sovek, Morgan Samuel Price, Camille Przewodek, Ann Templeton, Bob Rohm, Kim English, Louis Escobedo,  Albert Handell and Ken Auster. Her paintings can be found in numerous private and corporate collections.
"A born optimist, my oil paintings are naturally colorful.   I use expressive brush strokes to liberally interpret landscapes and architecture. Colors breathe beauty and happiness to the often overlooked sights around me. I portray a glance at our world, a “snippet “, fresh and unlabored, a scene that is fleeting, familiar and memorable."
