Artist Penni Barger

An example of fine art by Penni Barger

Photo of Penni Barger

Once a pastel artist, I now consider myself a textile artist.  The possibilities of creating with fabric and thread are endless.  I find the journey to creating an art quilt exciting and wonderfully challenging.  I so enjoy seeing my sketches and ideas represented in fabric, thread and inks and enhanced with quilting.  I consider the sewing machine needle my brush, thread my paint and fabric my canvas.  The subject matter is endless and I am inspired by the common everyday things.  Even in the commonplace, there is something unusual and inspirational to be made into a quilt.  My choice of subject varies to reflect my personal experiences and current moods employing a realistic/impressionistic style, emphasizing color and composition.
Showing my quilts and seeing people enjoy them gives me tremendous satisfaction.
Thank you for visiting my website and hope you enjoy viewing my quilts.
