     Artist, Paula Morgan has lived in New England all of her life. She lives and works in the scenic artist's haven of Cape Ann, Massachusetts. She lives with her husband Tadhg, along with their three children Alexandra, Ian, Patrick and their dog, Kona in rustic West Gloucester. The artist's own children and family often appear in her portraiture and figurative work. It's their life together on and around the water that serves the most inspiration to her creative process.  
     Paula received her Bachelor's of Fine Art degree in Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design (1996), and her Master's of Education from Salem State College (2008).  Paula has been a teacher of visual arts in private and public settings for over 19 years. She currently teaches elementary art in Gloucester Public Schools.  As a teacher, Paula is a strong advocate for the arts in public education, as it was such a significant part of her personal experiences in education.
     While building her teaching career and running a busy household, Paula is committed to expanding her journey and explorations with her own art.  Her husband, Tadhg custom built a free standing studio located on their property adjacent to the Essex Greenbelt Conservation where she sneaks out during off hours from teaching and parenting. This has become the path to keeping her art alive while balancing work and family life. Primarily drawn to color and light situations, Paula often depicts colorful and calming landscape, dynamic still life and marine compositions in juicy, loose strokes. Paula mainly works in oil with an alla prima style and is most influenced by impressionist as well as post impressionist art work.
