Artist Paula Kolojeski

An example of fine art by Paula Kolojeski

I’ve been living and painting in New Jersey for thirty years now. Working on location whenever possible, I try to capture the play of light, bringing the viewer into the moment that inspired me. Because of the reflective nature of sand and sea, the beach is a great place to study these effects. I’ve also found subject matter in the wooded areas near Princeton, where I live, and occasionally much farther afield when I travel. I’ve usually chosen pastels for my outdoor work because of their convenient portability, but recently I’ve been working with oils on location as well. Back in the studio I bring these sketches to a finished state and often develop oil paintings based on them. During the winter months I enjoy working on still life as well.
My work is in private and corporate collections in this country, Canada, Europe and Asia. Main Street Gallery in Manasquan (www.mainstreetgallery.com) shows my work, and limited edition reproductions of some images are available at several other New Jersey galleries including Oceanside Gallery in Belmar and Anchor and Palette in Bay Head
