Patty Niebling has summered in Bay Head, New Jersey all her life and has lived there year round for 35 years. Her art background stems from two years at Sweet Briar College in Virginia, then three more as an Illustration Major at Parsons School of Design in New York. She continued her art education through numerous courses in drawing, commercial design, pastels at The Pastel Society of New York, and presently in oils at Thompson Park in Lincroft New Jersey under Grace Graupe-Pillard.She began her career in advertising art at The Hecht Co. in Washington, D.C., and continued to paint while raising her three children. Her most recent work was with Three Designing Women in Freehold, New Jersey, where she was a muralist for three years.Patty won Second Prize at Monmouth Art Gallery's Riverview Hospital Show, 1995, Second Prize at the Papermill Playhouse Show in Millburn, 1995,  Second Prize at the Stamford Marine Art Show, 2001, and exhibited at The Annual Pastel Society of America Juried Show in New York. She has been a member of Ocean Artists' Guild in Island Heights. Her paintings have been sought after by collectors from the East Coast and as far away as Oregon.Subject matter for Patty ranges from local Barnegat Bay and beach scenes, to still life, portraiture, to life in the country, and figure painting. Her lifelong love of nature and wildlife has more recently enticed her to paint horses, wolves, sea life, and beyond.  Her work can be seen  "on the easel" at her own studio in Bay Head.
