The Artist Says:

There is an abundance of beauty around me in my rural area.  I like to capture that and bring it to my canvas so others may enjoy it as well.

Pat Samples-Ehrlich was born and raised in the heart of farm and ranch country in northeastern Colorado.  Her inspiration of capturing the beauty of the surrounding landscape came from her love of nature and everyday life on the farm.
Pat was able to exhibit her artwork at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, CO while she was in high school.  Pat attended the University of Northern Colorado with an art scholarship, majoring in Fine Art.  While she was at UNC her work was selected for a nationwide traveling exhibit.
Samples-Ehrlich owned and operated Artworks, Signs and Designs for over 30 years before she reignited her passion for fine art.  As a commercial artist, she created many murals, sandblasted glass and stone art and signs, hand lettered signs, entry signs and window art.
Her style has evolved to Impressionistic Realism and her medium of choice is oil on canvas.  Much of Pat's artwork revolves around the outdoor landscapes that are just out her backdoor, looking at the South Platte river and other places in Colorado.
She has studied recently with George Coll, John Poon, Dave Santillanes and Jill Soukup and has  attended classes at the Art Students League of Denver. She is also an associate member of the Oil Painters of America and the High Plains Artists of Colorado.  Her work has been accepted into juried shows such as the Western Spirit Art Show in Cheyenne, WY, the Greeley National Art Exhibition and the Women of the Eastern Plains Exhibit at the CACE Gallery in Ft. Morgan, CO.
