"The contemplation of Beauty causes the soul to grow wings" - Plato
Patrice was raised in the suburbs of New York, a child of two artistic parents who encouraged her love for drawing and photography. Her first paid commission was a wall mural painted for a family friend at 16.  But an interest in the medical sciences led her to an early career as a medical/health writer. In the 90's, managing a household with four active children became a full-time vocation and gave Patrice an opportunity to reignite her creative life in the visual arts.
She started a successful business in 2000 as a decorative painter and muralist, while continuing private studies in drawing and painting with Georgian painter Niko Chocheli near her home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Fascinated by the elaborately-decorated church interiors she visited in Europe, Patrice sought out opportunities to learn as much as she could about the crafts employed in creating a "sacred" space--- a space set apart from ordinary, physical life, where one is transported into the realm of Beauty, Goodness, and Truth.
Patrice was soon drawn to the idea of painting on a transparent surface, where the focus is on transmitted light and color. She studied the centuries-old techniques used in stained glass window painting and design. Through her associations with craftsmen and artists in the stained glass community, she has completed a number of large window commissions for churches and other institutions in the Philadelphia area, New York and elsewhere.
She served as President of the American Glass Guild for two years and a is a member of the Stained Glass Association of America. Her smaller autonomous stained glass works have been shown in conference exhibitions and collected internationally.
