Biography

In Pamela Taylor’s most current work of encaustic, oil, and gold-leaf portraits, Taylor aims to raise the viewer’s consciousness about the preciousness of life and the Divine Spirit within.  Taylor is inspired by the Egyptian Mummy portraits, her March 2018 adventure exploring the ancient, mystical sites in Egypt, a 2016 trip to Russia where she experienced first-hand the religious icons and majestic beauty of the churches throughout Russia, and her faith.

Taylor is a visual artist, currently living and working in San Antonio, Texas, influenced by her 14 years as Co-Founder/CEO at Dress for Success San Antonio and Founder/CEO of Career Gear San Antonio (workforce development agencies working with disenfranchised populations), as well her personal experience of domestic violence, childhood abuse, working with inmates at Bexar County Jail, client stories and our current social/political climate.

Taylor works primarily in encaustic (molten beeswax, damar resin, pigment), as well as oil and cold wax.  She also enjoys ink, acrylic, watercolor, graphite, charcoal, and photography.
