Pam Gleave is an award-winning artist and photographer from Michigan. She attended college at Olivet College in Michigan where she received a degree in Sociology/Anthropology and Art with a Biology minor.
Her interest in entomology has fueled much of her work in insect illustration and paintings of the natural world. She belongs to North American Butterfly Association and does regular counts for state and national data bases. Many of her insect paintings can be found in collections not only in Michigan, but also in 22 other states, Japan, Germany and Switzerland. Members of the faculty at Olivet College have her fine art insect portraits in their collections as well.
At home in Leslie, Michigan she produces art from her studio in her home working in oils, pastel, gouache and bronze sculpture.
One of her latest projects involves photomicrography (photographs taken through a microscope) of re-crystallized chemicals, beer and wine, and other household substances such as aspirin, cinnamon, and cream of tartar. They result in ethereal, intriguing, hypnotic photographs that have won numerous awards and have enchanted many viewers.
She is also at work on sculptures of Tango dancers.
She has sold large format photographs of her Beerscapes to the set designers for the CBS prime time TV show Chicago Fire and HBO TV show Boss, starring Kelsey Grammer.
