Biography
I am an artist living in Dublin. I studied graphic design at the National College of Art and Design and worked as a designer before focusing on painting and art education.
I love paint, colours, tones and noticing the beauty and drama in the details of ordinary scenes
Through still lifes, portraiture and cityscapes I look at the colours and light of the everyday- shadows cast by a chimney when the sun is bright after a rain shower, the light falling on an apple reflected in a stainless steel teapot or the transient bloom of a summer flower.
The objects, buildings, people and the space between them
I have exhibited with private galleries in Ireland including the Hallward Gallery, Merrion Square, Dublin and the Greenlane Gallery, Dingle, Co. Kerry. I have work exhibited work at the RHA annual open exhibitionRecently I have exhibited as part of Westival Arts Festival in Westport, Co Mayo and in Green Acres Gallery in Wexford Town
