Artist Nancy Welter

An example of fine art by Nancy Welter

Photo of Nancy Welter

Like many artists, drawing and painting was a part of Nancy Welter’s early childhood.  Some meditate and do yoga to de-stress their lives. Drawing and painting have served that function for her.  It is a part of her heart and soul.  She loses time and place when she delves into the creative process.  Since the early ‘90s, Welter has studied watercolor, charcoal, graphite and soft pastel at the Art Students' League in Denver whenever her day job allowed.  Within the last four years, she settled on soft pastel as her medium of choice.  Presently, she is working on a wide range of landscapes, the figure, wedding commemorative portraits and still life. She has received a 2014 pastel second place award ribbon at the Greeley Art From The Heart Show, and the 2017 "Pure Pigment" 2017 Pastel Society of Colorado Members Show.  She was juried into the Mile High International Exhibition in 2014, 2015, and 2016 by Albert Handell, Liz Haywood Sullivan, and Kim Casebeer.  She has been juried into the 24th National Pastel Exhibition in New Mexico receiving the H. K. Holbein Award ribbon.  She received several honorable mention awards. Welter is looking forward to selling and showing her artwork in galleries and festivals.
