Living as an artist is ennobling.
I try to paint with a poet's graceful intention, with the most love,  giving voice to the mood of light and shadow while harnessing the power of color to create a well designed story. Always with an intimate focus. Always about connection.
I graduated cum laude, BFA, double major art and English Literature, from the University of Hartford Art School, after which I attended art classes at Connecticut College, Paier Art School, and Rhode Island of Design, while teaching art at two elementary schools in East Lyme and Niantic Connecticut for three years.
The following two years I worked as an artist, writer, and inventor for S&S Arts and Crafts (a national wholesale supplier to schools, camps, churches and retail supplier to department and crafts stores), creating a wide variety of 35 new products- including coloring books, educationally themed books to color and read, a lap weaving loom, dye cut castle to color, etc.

I simultaneously freelanced for Xerox Education Publications (children’s book covers and interior illustrations), ad agencies, fashion illustrations for department and boutique stores, city artist for Norwich, Connecticut, Bess Eaton Donuts, Litchfield Bank, etc.member of CT Society of Illustrators. I created paintings turned into billboards- advertising Mystic Seaport. the most popular tourist destination in CT. Painted posters for Norwich Inn and the Norwich Marina. Taught drawing at the Portland Arts Center and the East Hampton Art Center, CT.
In 1986, I moved to Charlotte, NC, where I worked as creative director and illustrator for Pretty Paper Greeting Cards, Designs by Harrill (designing mall decorations, including animated elves, [...]
