The Artist Says:

In my work I seek to share my love of animals and their individual personalities with the viewer. Using color and abstraction combined with realistic portrayals of animals, I engage my audience in my contemporary look at the genre of animal painting.

My life long love of animals has nurtured my artist soul. But a cow – somehow – changed my entire point of view.
Collectively, cows are central to my core artistic message. I am drawn to their calmness and feel a return to simpler times in their innocent faces.
For over thirty five years we lived on Anchorage farm in Southern Albemarle county.  We raised our herd of Simmental, Hereford, Angus, and Charolais cows who served as beautiful models for my paintings.  I now spend my winters on the West coast of Florida and my summers in the mountains of the Asheville area and I continue to paint my beloved herd of cows and endangered animals and native wildlife.
