Michael Minor studied one year in London at the Heatherly School of Fine Art and has continued to develop.  He is a contemporary representational painter, principally of portraits and figures in oils.
My aim is to live my life through my work as a painter, but sadly one life will not be enough to capture what inspires me.  I as much as possible live in the moment, not dwelling on the past or future, and view the world around me through fresh eyes.  I have witnessed the best and worst of humanity, and I am captured by the human animal in all of its forms; its spirit, timeless condition, and environment.  My paintings build in their humble way on traditional painters and their works laid down through millennium.  I want to tell timeless stories with my pictures and leave them to the collective whole of works done before me.  I paint in a classic representational style by learning and refining the traditional, technical skills of great painters.  My goal is not simply to make pictures but masterpieces recognizing that if I render but one, I will have succeeded as a painter.
